Reveal Supports Renowned Open Innovation Program

Reveal congratulates Census Open Innovation Labs on successfully leading The Opportunity Project (TOP) to its 10th anniversary! This year marks the 10th year of TOP, a program that has raised the bar for open innovation in government. TOP is a technology development sprint program that unlocks the value of open data for the economy and people nationwide. Over the past decade, 270+ data-driven products including apps, websites, Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms, toolkits, and more have been created through TOP sprints, addressing challenges ranging from economic mobility to youth homelessness, among many other topics. Reveal is honored to have supported the growth of TOP and participated in challenges to explore innovative solutions and partnerships.

On the occasion of its 10th anniversary, TOP is the subject of a new report by the Center for Open Data Enterprise (CODE) for the IBM Center for the Business of Government, titled “The Opportunity Project: 10 Years of Open Data and Agile Development.” The report draws on interviews with TOP participants and collaborators to explore how TOP’s methodology has evolved over the past decade, and it features numerous case studies that illustrate the program’s impact. For more information about the report, please see the Census Bureau’s latest bulletin about TOP.

Reveal is committed to helping TOP continue to thrive and evolve into its second decade. It is an honor supporting the Census Bureau in its work to promote open innovation and serve the American public.
